Artist Statement

My paintings speak. My words paint.

I am Apostel13, A Lyrical Painter. Born in 1967 in Poland, I have called Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg my home since 1988.

Since my childhood, painting and writing have been one language to me — not two separate disciplines. I don't paint pictures. I paint thoughts. I never stop evolving — always searching for the new, the unknown within myself.

My art is, above all, oil-acrylic painting on canvas, complemented by digital work and text woven into my paintings — a process that cannot be planned. It emerges from feeling, from the moment, from what the work itself demands.

Profound themes fascinate and drive me: war and memory, humanity and nature, uncertainty, tension and hope. My art does not emerge at a desk — it emerges from life itself. Current events, inner conflicts, the contradictions of our time flow unfiltered into my work.

Between abstraction and figuration, between beauty and suffering, between cry and silence — my works live in the spaces in between. They are not answers. They are invitations to look beneath the surface.

I understand my art as visual poetry — a reflection of the present and a mirror of the human experience.
